Color Reduction and Pattern Re-Coloring in Photoshop

In this section we will use the color table to re-color our rose pattern as we have been doing, but we will build upon what we have learned by exploring some additional coloring options.

In section 2 we will quickly review some basic, but important color theory principles such as recognizing color harmonies;

• Triad
• Analagous
• Tetrad
• Complimentary
• Split Complimentaries
• Quadratic (square)

In section 3 we will look at creating some color palettes using color harmonies and some very basic tools. It is from these files that we will build our color tables.

Section four will demonstrate how to save the actual color table as a separate file that can then be archived for later use with other files.

Section five will show us how to use the .act file we generated earlier from the color table we built. We will learn how to "load" the table to re-color our rose pattern.

In section six we look at how to build a swatch library and then save it as a separate file that can be used with other files for re-coloring. We will then use the swatches to define the colors in a table.

In this final re-color section, we will create a presentational file in the form of a multi-page .pdf file with all of our patterns in repeat.
