Defining the Pattern

Defining the pattern is a Photoshop term/function that allows us to put or 'see' our patterns in repeat.

This final section of this micro-project will guide us through putting our pattern[s] into repeat and then creating a print quality presentation we can later use for our portfolios.

The images shown below demonstrate some of the many 'plaid' possibilities. Click an image to see that plaid in repeat;

This is the plaid that uses a dark aqua base with coral accent.
This is the yellow plaid that uses tonal stripes.
This is a traditional Buffalo plaid.
Tonal plaid with red accent.
Assymetrical plaid.
Green Buffalo plaid with black accent.

This basic weave is the weave we will be creating in the step by step video instructions below.
