Why Use Photoshop?

When we use Adobe Photoshop to design and create a plaid pattern, we learn some very cool and useful Photoshop techniques such as layer management, selections, clipping masks and patterns. But this exercise also provides us with an opportunity to learn some very important information about woven fabrics. We will learn about how woven fabrics such as plaids are constructed and designed. We will also learn about "weaves" and how to make and use them.

This lesson also helps us to establish a foundation of textile knowledge that will help us with many illustrative applications that we can use as textile designers, fashion designers, visual merchandisers, fashion merchandisers, 3D designers, gaming environment designers and many other design industry applications.
